George is a huge boy....... He is very playful, sweet and strong. He is about 2 years old as of February 2013. George was abandoned at a Vet's office after his previous owners decided they didn't want him. He loves to play with the water coming out of the hose. He loves to play fetch and jumps really high when chasing the ball! He also knows basic commands. We think he would do better in a home without small children only because we think George might accidentally tip them over. My 5 year old nephew and 12 year old niece were around him with no problem. He does not like cats. He usually likes the dogs he meets, but his play energy tends to scare them a bit. He is great with people and would love an active family. American Bulldogs are typically confident, social, and active dogs that are at ease with their families. They bond strongly with their owners. While the goal of the breed was originally to produce a working farm utility dog that could catch and hold wild boar and cattle, kill vermin, and guard an owner's property, when properly trained, exercised and socialized, this breed can become a great family pet. American Bulldogs generally live from 10–16 years, and tend to be strong, physically active, and often healthy. George will need a firm and consistent owner to continue the training he is receiving with us. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.richardsonrescue.org.
