We believe Po' Boy is a little over a year old as of January, 2015 and weighs about 60 pounds. We rescued him from a kill shelter on his last day. This is a beautiful boy with a great personality and is very loving with everyone here at the rescue. He is house trained and walks on a leash. He does not like cats at all, so he will need a no cat home. We are working with him now to find out how he does with other dogs. Po Boy loves children but can be a little much for small children. He is an active boy that will need a fenced yard to adopt. He loves to have someone outside with him while he plays. This breed requires positive, reward-based training, good socialization and consistency; it is often not the best choice for inexperienced dog owners. Ridgebacks are strong-willed, intelligent, and many seem to have a penchant for mischief, though loving. They are protective of their owners and families. If trained well, they can be excellent guard dogs. Po' Boy is neutered, heartworm negative and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention.
