Herby is a Mini Australian Shepherd born August 8, 2008 and weighs 11.5 pounds. This boy was rescued from a breeder. He has a nice, sweet temperament with everyone here at the rescue. As typical of the breed, he can be a little shy when meeting strangers. He is warming up nicely to everyone here at the rescue, and we have had no nippy issues. He also gets along great with other dogs. Herby did test positive for heartworms and is currently on the slow kill method for heartworms until we get him in for heartworm treatment. After his treatment, he will be neutered. He has never been around children so, we recommend a home with no young children. We are not sure about house training, but most breeder rescues we receive are crate trained which transfers well to house training. This breed is for an active family and usually does not do well with apartment life. Herby is neutered and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention.
